The Grace Notes Music Foundation is proud to announce that sixteen Makayla Joy Sitton Music Scholarships have been awarded for the 2016-2017 school year. The scholarships are made possible by the Grace Notes Music Foundation's fundraising performances and events, as well as a generous partnership with the Makayla Joy Sitton Foundation, the Loxahatchee Club Educational Foundation, and private donors. With assistance from Grace Notes Music Foundation, students will enroll for private piano, guitar and violin lessons.
"Makayla Joy Sitton was a gifted piano student and joy-filled little girl who I was privileged to teach. It is such a tribute to her life to watch these students grow through the beauty of music with the scholarships that were instituted in her memory," says Mrs. Sandra Baran, Founder, Grace Notes Music Foundation. September 2016 marked the Grace Notes Music Foundation's fourth anniversary as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. The Makayla Joy Sitton Music Scholarships are the cornerstone on which the Foundation is built and the growth of this program is a priority of the Foundation. This year's sixteen recipients represent an increase from nine scholars during the 2014-2015 school year. With continued growth, the Grace Notes Music Foundation's mission is to provide exceptional music education and performance opportunities for students from diverse cultural, ethnic, racial and economic backgrounds and to sponsor community enriching music events.
Applications and guidelines are available annually in January.
